What's there to do in Chamonix

What a great question... Absolutely loads!
Shopping

Shopping in France is always great. The French love style for their clothing and their homes and tend to favor the smaller boutiques for originality. Chamonix is a small town but very touristy and therefore, has many top-notch boutiques. Also being such such a hotspot for sports you will have no problem shopping for the best of sporting equipment, skis and snowboards, great outerwear, mountain bikes and more

Museums and Attractions

Aside from all the sporting activities in the area and the hopping bars by night, there are other ways to spend your time in and around Chamonix. Museums are sprouted throughout the mountain's Vallee Blanche to educate visitors on the region's culture.

Chamonix Sports and Activities

Chamonix is an absolute mecca for people who love the mountains. It's a great place to visit both in the winter and in the summer.

In the winter you will get to enjoy one of the world's greatest ski areas, with the opportunity to ski amongst some truly amazing mountain scenery. There are 5 main ski areas in the Chamonix Valley: Le Tour , Brévent, Flégère, Grands Montets and the Aiguille du Midi.

Le Tour is at the head of the valley and offers more gentle slopes suitable for beginners and intermediates.

Brévent is accessible from the Chamonix village and offers runs of all levels. It is connected to Flégère by a cable car; you can also access Flégère from the valley. Brévent and Flégère offer runs of all levels, and absolutely spectacular views across the valley to the Mont Blanc massif.

Chamonix is a major tourist destination be it winter, summer, sping or fall. The town itself is quite small, but it still packs a punch when it comes to nightlife. With the abundance of people that travel from all parts of the globe to be here, you can bet on some great nightlife-especially since the city is also a big one for celebrities. To help you find out where all the great nightlife spots are there is a free nightlife guide distributed around town called 'Le Petit Canard' which has the schedules of all the bars in town and the parties you don't want to miss!
